Question
Before the sacrifice, some of the other participants knew about it but they did not notice the rulings regarding insurance company job. The leader of the participants knew about the job title of the particular participants but did not notice it carefully. Before the eid, another female participant discussed the issue with one of her relatives who warned her but she also did not bring it to the notice of other participants.
Now after the eid day, the participants understood the issue. What should be done now as already the sacrifice is made?

Ruling Regarding Unlawful Income in a Collective Qurbani
If one of the participants in a collective Qurbani contributes with unlawful income, and the organizers and the other participants are aware of it, then the Qurbani of the remaining participants will not be valid.
However, if the organizers and the other participants are not aware that the person’s contribution came from unlawful income, then the Qurbani of the other participants will remain valid.
In principle, it is not permissible to investigate or ask about a Muslim’s income. However, if it is clearly known that a person’s income is unlawful, then he may only be included in a collective Qurbani through lawful income. Likewise, if there is a reasonable doubt about someone’s income supported by evidence, then investigation becomes necessary.
Therefore, it is advisable for the organizers of a collective Qurbani to clearly display a notice at the booking or registration place stating that participation in the collective Qurbani is allowed only through lawful income. Any similar wording may also be used to make participants aware that contributing unlawful money is not permissible.
Once such a notice has been clearly communicated, there is no need to investigate each participant individually. In that case, the Qurbani of the remaining participants will be valid.
